What pdf2docx can reconstruct

PDF to Word is for digital PDFs that already contain text. We run pdf2docx on the server and return a .docx. Headings, body runs, and many tables come across. Complex multi-column layouts and text-on-path often need cleanup in Word or Google Docs.

A scan (image-only pages) will usually become pictures inside the Word file, not selectable paragraphs. Run OCR PDF first if you need real text, then convert. That is slower and still not a perfect recreation of the original layout.

Best: exports from Word, Google Docs, or a print-to-PDF driver with real fonts.
Weak: camera photos of pages, or PDFs that are one JPEG per page.
The PDF is deleted after conversion. We do not store the .docx.

What Word format do I get?+

A .docx (Office Open XML) that opens in Word, Google Docs, and LibreOffice. We use pdf2docx on the server — not a screenshot of the page.

Will every PDF convert perfectly?+

Text-based PDFs convert best. Complex layouts may need cleanup in Word. Scanned (image-only) PDFs often become images inside the document rather than fully selectable text.

Is the PDF kept after conversion?+

No. Conversion is ephemeral: upload, convert, return the DOCX, delete temporary files.

What if the PDF is a scan?+

Run OCR first to add a text layer, then convert to Word. Image-only scans become pictures inside the DOCX.
