What is ChargeBite Tools?+
ChargeBite Tools is a free suite of privacy-first file utilities at chargebite.net. You can compress, merge, split, protect, rotate, organize, unlock, watermark, OCR, redact, strip metadata, number pages, stamp a signature image, and convert PDFs (Word, Excel, JPG, PNG), plus India passport/PAN/exam photos, scan-to-PDF, image resize/crop, and ZIP tools — no account.
Is ChargeBite Tools free?+
Yes. Every listed tool is free. No account is required.
Do you store my files?+
We do not keep long-term copies of your documents. PDF tools process files ephemerally (upload, process, return, delete). Image compression and ZIP creation run entirely in your browser and never upload files to our servers.
Is Compress Image really private?+
Yes. Compress Image uses on-device processing in your browser. Your photo or graphic does not leave your device for that tool.
Does ZIP Files upload my documents?+
No. ZIP Files builds the archive entirely in your browser. Selected files never leave your device for that tool.
How does PDF compression work?+
You upload a PDF over HTTPS. Our servers compress it for that job only, stream the result back, and delete temporary files when the job finishes or fails.
What is the maximum PDF upload size?+
Compress and merge accept about 80 MB per file (large phone scans). Unlock, split, and most convert tools stay near 50 MB — compress first and we carry the file over. Image tools are smaller.
Which image formats are supported?+
Compress Image supports JPEG, PNG, and WebP in the browser. Convert Image and Images to PDF also accept GIF, TIFF, BMP, and HEIC on the server.
Can I convert Word or PowerPoint to PDF?+
Yes. Dedicated Word to PDF, Excel to PDF, and PowerPoint to PDF pages use LibreOffice. The Office to PDF hub still accepts mixed types. Processing is ephemeral.
Can I password-protect or rotate a PDF?+
Yes. Protect PDF uses AES (not DRM). Rotate PDF is lossless 90/180/270°. Organize PDF reorders or deletes pages without flattening.
Do you offer electronic signatures?+
No. Add signature image stamps a PNG/JPEG. That is appearance only — not a legal e-sign, not Aadhaar eSign, and not a certificate.
Do you generate QR codes on my device?+
QR Code is generated on the server with high error correction so PNG and SVG output stay sharp. The text is not stored after the job.
Do you use my files to train AI models?+
No. We do not sell, share, or train models on your file contents. See the privacy page for full details.
Do you use advertising trackers?+
We show Google AdSense so the tools can stay free. Google may use cookies and advertising identifiers on the page. We do not send your files or file names to Google. A self-hosted Umami instance still records cookieless page views and tool events (no file names or contents).
Can I merge multiple PDFs?+
Yes. Use Merge PDF to combine multiple files and reorder them before creating a single document.
Can I extract pages from a PDF?+
Yes. Split PDF can extract page ranges, split every page, or chunk a document into separate files.
How do I contact you?+
Email [email protected]. ChargeBite is operated by Dilpreet Singh. There is a contact page at /contact/.
Why choose ChargeBite over other online converters?+
Many converters optimize for features first. ChargeBite Tools optimizes for privacy-first processing, clear labels (server vs on-device), modern UX, and zero long-term retention.
How do I convert JPG images to one PDF?+
Use Images to PDF. JPEG and PNG are embedded without re-encoding. See the JPG to PDF guide for steps.
How do I convert an iPhone HEIC photo?+
Use Convert Image. It accepts HEIC and can export JPEG, PNG, or WebP with LANCZOS resize.
Can I convert a PDF to JPG or PNG?+
Yes. PDF to JPG renders pages at 150–600 DPI or extracts embedded images without re-encoding.
Can I unlock a password-protected PDF?+
Yes, if you already know the password. Unlock PDF decrypts without rasterizing. We do not crack unknown passwords.
Can I OCR a scanned PDF?+
Yes. OCR PDF adds a searchable text layer under the scan, or exports plain text. English, Spanish, French, and German are available.
Can I convert PDF tables to Excel?+
Yes. PDF to Excel extracts real tables into .xlsx. Scanned PDFs should be OCR’d first.
